Hello,

I was wondering, if someone is familiar with the following bug:

Bug Alert – 496371

EosSdk agents using a certain combination of Sysdb mount paths may cause the Sysdb agent to restart on connecting to Sysdb.
If the agent is configured and stored in startup-config this can cause Sysdb to get stuck in a restart loop.

It seems that only EoS SDK developed agents could have a negative effect on Sysdb – correct(?)

Is there any source where can learn more about Arista EOS agents?

Please advise.

Thanks,

Martin

Hi Martin,

Thanks for reaching out.

Yes.BUG-496371 affects EosSdk agents using a certain combination of Sysdb mount paths. However this bug has been fixed in latest EOS versions.(4.24.3, 4.25.0)

Following whitepaper might help in getting started with EOS agents:

https://www.arista.com/assets/data/pdf/EOSWhitepaper.pdf

You can find more detailed info on the GitHub page for EosSDK: https://github.com/aristanetworks/EosSdk/wiki/Quickstart%3A-Hello-World

Thanks,

Bhavana.
