I want to load balance in the neighborhood of ospf that I set up between arista 7280sr vs cisco 2911 router. Everything is ok in the settings on the Cisco side, but I could not make the settings on the arista side. How can I make this setting on the arista 7280sr?

thank you.

Hi Doruknet,

Thanks for reaching out.

By the problem statement can you confirm if we are referring to OSPF ECMP routes not getting installed in RIB/routing table?

Could you please provide us the topology diagram highlighting the concerned device in order to get a better view of your network environment.

Can you check if you don't have "maximum-paths 1" command under "router ospf " configuration. If we have "maximum-paths 1" command configured , then it won't install ECMP routes for OSPF learned prefixes. It can be either set to default or to higher value as per our requirement.

Also can you check if you have the "same metric cost" for the prefix received from 2 different advertising routers .Routes will be installed as ECMP path only when cost/metrics across the received routes are same.

"show ip ospf database detail " output can help with the same.

Could you provide us with the below logs in order to further investigate this issue:

show tech-support | no

sh ip ospf database detail

check on the off chance that you don't have "greatest ways 1" order under "switch ospf " configuration. If we have "most extreme ways 1" order designed , at that point it will not introduce ECMP courses for OSPF learned prefixes. It can be either set to default or to higher incentive according to our necessity.

Additionally would you be able to check in the event that you have "a similar measurement cost" for the prefix got from 2 diverse publicizing switches .Routes will be introduced as ECMP way just when cost/measurements across the got courses are same.
