Hi

I’m looking for an option to forward telemetry data collected in CVP to my external system (for further analysis)
I found similar question from 2019 (https://eos.arista.com/forum/forwarding-telemetry-data-from-cvp-to-external-system/) but the link to github in response doesn’t work.

Generally I want to monitor Arista devices parameters in my monitoring system – I really wan’t to avoid define thresholds/alarms/notification in monitoring system and CVP – I would like to aggregate all information in one place.

The simplest would be to enable snmp on devices and query each one from NMS but that’s “not the best solution” since I’m using telemetry – any other advice how easiest to integrate CVP with external NMS for monitoring (interface traffic, cpu/other alarms) ?

Best regards
Adam

Hi Adam,

The link in my other post works, but the doc page has changed in the past 2 years, so you just need to go the main project URL which is https://github.com/aristanetworks/cloudvision (this is our javascript websocket library)

Starting from 2020.2.0 we've introduced Resource APIs (events, inventory, tag resources are available today) and the also cloudvision.Connector that can get/subscribe any data from our NetDB. Please see documentation and examples in the following links:

https://aristanetworks.github.io/cloudvision-apis

https://github.com/aristanetworks/cloudvision-python/tree/trunk/examples/Connector

https://github.com/aristanetworks/cloudvision-python/tree/trunk/examples/resources/event

https://github.com/aristanetworks/cloudvision-python/tree/trunk/examples/resources/inventory

https://github.com/aristanetworks/cloudvision-python/tree/trunk/examples/resources/tag

For further details please follow up with your local SE.

Thanks,

Tamas
