I’m running a lab with EOS as a VM and a linux box to controll it using Ansible.

I’ve found that the Devops Extension needs to be downloaded and installed on the EOS VM, but I’m unable to find where the RPM is and I’m not sure if some support contract is needed, so my questions are:

Is a support contract needed to download the Devops Extension RPM?

If not, where can I access it?

Thanks in advance!

Mario

Mario – We are int he process of rewriting all of the DevOps extensions to use a ’dev-ops standard library’ to abstract the various APIs into EOS. The plan is to present very dev-ops friendly libraries so developers can focus on building the workflows instead of how-to interface with the various systems. With your permission I can get you updates on the progress of this extension and other dev-ops tools. Ultimately we would to build the tools that enable a vibrant dev-ops community would love yo have you as part of it.

The current modules that are available in Ansible core are deprecated and currently being transitioned to Ansible Galaxy using roles. The new roles will no longer have a dependency on the devops extension and transition to the new EOS roles available on Galaxy is advised. The new roles will be available for download later this week.
