Hello,

I have an Arista 7050 that runs on EOS v4.8.3, and would like to upgrade it to v4.18.0.

What is the upgrade, as well as downgrade path for the software?

Please share tables or documents that explains the path.

Thank you.

Hi Obioma,

Thanks for reaching out.

Is 7050 a standalone or MLAG peer device?

If it is a standalone device then we can directly upgrade to the target version however if it a MLAG device then we need to upgrade first to an intermediate version that is compatible with the target version.

4.18.0F  version has reached End of support long back .Please refer to the below doc to get an idea regarding EOS Life cycle policy:

https://www.arista.com/en/support/product-documentation/eos-life-cycle-policy

Please refer to the below EOS manual guide for Upgrade/Downgrade procedure/steps:

https://www.arista.com/en/um-eos/eos-upgrades-and-downgrades   -->For standalone

https://www.arista.com/en/um-eos/eos-multi-chassis-link-aggregation#xx1151260 -->For MLAG

Since EOS version 4.18.0 is very old and reached End of support long back , we don't find the EOS.SWI image for this version in https://www.arista.com/en/support/software-download page.

We highly recommend you to contact your Arista SE for EOS.SWI images for older versions and regarding latest EOS code recommendation for upgradation.

Thanks,

Bhavana.

Hi Obioma.

In addition to what Bhavana mentioned, please be aware that if you are using a 7050 (no 7050X), such models have reached End of Sale since 2016, as seen here:

https://www.arista.com/en/support/advisories-notices/end-of-sale/1249-end-of-sale-of-the-arista-7050-series

So if you are using one of such models, EOS 4.18 is very likely not going to be supported.

Thanks,

José.
