Hello,

Is there a better way than compiling GIT client source if I want using it on CVP ? Do you provide a RPM / YUM package for that purpose ? I’d like to have CVP comiting code and/or getting them from our GIT repository.

Thx in advance.

I usually love to compile it from source specially it’s a straight forward one however if you want it recompiled why you don’t use something like EPEL repo

Download the EPEL repo

wget http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/7/x86_64/e/epel-release-7-8.noarch.rpm

Install the RPM

rpm -ivh epel-release-7-8.noarch.rpm

install Yum

yum install git

Delete the repo if you no longer need it

rpm -e epel-release-7-8

CVP is a normal Centos Linux Machine so use it as normal linux

I have tested the installation and it go straight forward

here is the output from my CVP machine

[root@cvp ~]# git –version
git version 1.8.3.1
[root@cvp ~]#
