Hi we are looking to leverage separate paths for unicast vs multicast traffic and would like to leverage bgp for this.

From what I have seen in config, unless the peering AS has a peering into the bgp multicast address family there is no other way to dynamically populate the ipv4 multicast table.

I have seen that cisco utilizes the command “translate-update ipv4 multicast” to populate the multicast table from the unicast address family peers….does EOS have a similar function.

Hi Jason,

Unfortunately, EOS is not supporting "translate-update multicast".

If you need "translate-update multicast" on EOS and it can impact your network implementation,  you can contact the Sales team in charge of your company to request this feature.

But all the feature request can be implemented.

Best Regards,
