Hello All,

We are trying to integrate Arista Switches with OpenStack using Ml2 Plugins. Details of the setup as below

Setup Details:

Base OS: CentOS Linux release 7.3.1611 (Core)

OpenStack Version: Mitaka (13.1.2-1.el7)

Control +Network Node : 172.16.48.30

Compute 1 : 172.16.48.31

Arista CVX VM : 172.16.48.100

Attached are the configuration, Physical Setup Details and logs from the network+Controller node. Once the recommended changes are made Neutron service fails.

Can anybody guide here.

Regards,

Lalit

Hi Lalit,

From your neutron.conf file it looks like you are attempting to use the Layer 3 service plugin. The neutron error log indicates that you are missing some config.

To correct this:

cd /etc/neutron/plugins/ml2/

modify file ml2_conf_arista.ini as follows:

under [l3_arista] configuration sub-section, make the following changes:

  1. primary_l3_host: uncomment this line and set to the IP address of Arista Switch
  2. primary_l3_host_username:<your user name>
  3. primary_l3_host_password: leave it blank (or set it to Arista Switch’s password).

And restart neutron.

Please feel free to contact our support team if you are having any further issues.

Rgds,
Colin
