I am running vEOS on GNS3 using VM. I have connected PCs on Arista switch and trying to ping from one PC to other PC. I am unable to ping. Looked into Mac address-table no entry there. All switch ports are in access and are in default vlan.

Hi Muhammad,

That does not sound good, you should have the MAC address in the MAC address table to provide end-to-end reachability.

It should work.

So the problem might be an incorrect NIC type in the VM?

Have you tried 2 switches back to back to run such ping test between switches, rather than PC-switch-PC. That is just to eliminate the potential PC problem.

What about the physical connectivity, what can you see from the PC and from the switch?

Can you receive any other traffic on the interfaces (show int <x> counter, or tcpdump interface etc X can capture the traffic destined to the switch itself (e.g. ping, ssh, lldp, lacp, etc).

Can you provide your switch EOS config and a summary of the VM config (NIC, etc)
