Hello,

I wanted to set up a lab with OpenDayLight [running on Ubuntu] and vEOS and wondering if:

  1. This is supported by vEOS
  2. What OpenDayLight controller version does Arista recommend/support.

Is there any documentation available about ODL and Arista.

Thanks,

Hi Martin,
vEOS-lab is lacking the hardware components that store many hardware-related features (TCAM, FIB, etc). Some are virtualised, but not everything.
OpenFlow for example cannot write in any hardware table, so it will not work.

On physical devices it would work fine on models that support Openflow.
Sorry but I don't know about specific ODL versions.

You can use the API or SDK to programmatically control Arista EOS, including vEOS-lab.

Regards,
Alexis
