Is there a way on the 7010t platform to traffic shape in both the inbound and outbound direction on a vlan?  For example, i have an interface vlan with ipv4/ipv6 ips on it and I want to limit the trafic on the interface to 10m/10m.  Is there a way to do this?

Hi Kevin,

Currently we support policing on ingress and shaping on egress. We do not support shaping on ingress.

For egress shaping you can do it on a per port or per queue basis. This is documented in our config guide under section 27.8.4. The Helix portion relates to the 7010 switch

As mentioned we do support policing on ingress which you can use to drop packets beyond a certain rate which in your case would be 10Mb. This can be done on a per port per VLAN basis. Pls see the below referenced TOI article in relation to this feature.

are there any small footprint platforms arista makes that support shaping on both ingress/egress on vlan?  IE the 720XP or 7020sr?
