Hi all

I am new to Arista and am being introduced to it having had quite a long time as a Cisco engineer (16 years). My first piece of work is going to be diving in both feet to a global data center refresh program! I’m very much looking forward to it and expect to be spending a lot of time in this community to build and share knowledge :-)

I’ve started reading the Arista Warrior 2nd Edition and am grateful that some of it is familiar given it looks very Cisco like. I am also liking the differences.

I want to start by also aiming at certifications and also have a couple of questions I hope you can help with:

  1. I am CCDP and CCNP R&S, current. Looking just at the table of ACE exams, I am hoping I can aim for Level 4 or Level 6 (I may be overstating myself so happy to accept I may be doing so). In the exam table it states that 4 is a culmination of 1 – 3 plus 4. Does this mean that I have to study for all 4 exams? Or does it mean that relevant experience of 1 – 3 is what is needed? I appreciate that I don’t have the real-world Arista experience so hoping for guidance based on my experience. I also appreciate that I need to do some hands on work.
  2. This page https://www.arista.com/en/support/hands-on-training has an ACE Recertification section that refers to certain product feature courses can be taken to accumulate points that add towards your re-cert. Where are these videos and courses? Are they paid for or part of the community / something else?

Thanks all
