Hello Support,

I try to load the switch software EOS on VMware (beta version) and when I start the machine I get LZMA Data is corrupt. The system gives: Loading initrd…..ready and then –system halted.

I install the VMDK on IDE 0:0 and the cdrom with the boot ISO on IDE 0:1.

I followed the instructions of vSphere 5.5 (testing now on a beta version from VMware). When I use the same ISO and VMDK on my mac with VMware Fusion the system boots just fine.

Greetings Michael Muetstege

Mike,

I successfully have vEOS running on ESXi 5.5.0, 2068190. The vEOS i used is Aboot-veos-2.0.8.iso + vEOS-4.13.8M.vmdk. Could you do the following steps to identify the root cause:

1) run an md5sum on the vmdk file (md5sum is available in the ESXi shell)

- Verify it matches to the published md5sum file, if it matches try 2

2) try w/ non beta eSXI code

- If still unsuccesful, try 3

3) Send the vmx file & hardware description

- from vSphere Client -> Inventory -> Configuration -> Datastore (right click -> Browse Datastore)

- navigate to named vm, and download the .vmx file for that respective vm file

Let us know how you progress.
