Hi All

In an MLAG webinar last year, just before the end of the presentation, the presenter said that NLRI of route-type-5 can be generated using a unique LEAF-IP and EVPN router-mac in a dual-homed MLAG scenario (rather than a shared vxlan IP and the shared virtual mac) to optimally forward the traffic to a single connected host such as a router or some other end station through the correct leaf switch.

I need to know how we can do this in the configuration, what OS and vEOS supports this as I need to to test it in a virtual LAB.

Thanks

Hello Shuja,

I believe what you are looking for is a Multi-VTEP MLAG solution.  It is a solution designed for hosts that are destined for singly connected hosts to ensure the traffic lands on the proper switch in the MLAG pair to avoid forwarding traffic across the MLAG peer-link in such instances.  Please let us know if you have any further questions.
