Hello,

I am doing some testing with vEOS and a “plain” KVM environment (no GNS3 or similar).

When I put in “down” state an interface on KVM (with “virsh domif-setlink veos1 veos1_1 down”), the interface status is not reflected in the vEOS “show interface status”:

R1#show interfaces status
Port Name Status Vlan Duplex Speed Type Flags Encapsulation
Et1 R1 -> R2 connected routed full 10G EbraTestPhyPort
Et2 R1 -> R3 connected routed full 10G EbraTestPhyPort
Ma1 connected routed a-full a-1G 10/100/1000

However, it seems the linux stack is correctly reporting the interface as NO-CARRIER:

3: vmnicet1: <NO-CARRIER,BROADCAST,MULTICAST,PROMISC,UP> mtu 10000 qdisc pfifo_fast state DOWN mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000
link/ether 52:54:00:44:00:8d brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff

Is this a limitation of vEOS or a “bug”?

I’m running version 4.27.0F.

thanks,

Stefano

Hi Stefano,

This is a veos-lab limitation, and will be covered in future release.
