Hi all,

I am trying to figure out how to send:

vlan 100

which results in:

vlan 100
!! blah

using the eAPI json interface.

I am fine at sending nearly all config I need except I cannot figure out for the life of me how to send a VLAN comment to the switch.

If anyone can help, that would be fantastic.

Hi Skeeve,

You need to pass the comment as a JSON object, like this

response = switch.runCmds( 1, [
 ’vlan 100’,
 { ”cmd”: ”comment”, ”input”: ”server vlannEOF”}
] )

There are a couple examples of commands like this in section 1.2.3 of the API guide

Hi Edmund,

Where is the API guide? I can’t find it anywhere?

This was VERY helpful thanks.

It’s on our download page as a pdf under Active Releases, or if you only use vEOS, use the web frontend
