I understand that sha512, version 4.11.x, is not supported.

So from which version is sha512 available?

This is to encrypt the username password.

Thank you.

Hi Minsik,

It should be 4.12.x, the oldest version I had in the lab was 4.12.8.1 and the sha512 is there:

HOST1...11:20:46(config-mgmt-defaults)#sh ver | grep image
Software image version: 4.12.8.1
HOST1...11:22:10(config-mgmt-defaults)#sh active
management defaults
   secret hash sha512
HOST1...11:22:28(config)#sh run sec user
username test secret sha512 $6$TKE1E8lKUQKBfKdF$bGTlFTnhtPj3N5s.4VXCgN3hXoNu1SQR48tiAI8yXMkyTpwopeUSMpN6VsegYsOKaZKWMGiJSz7LWpCTRIIs71

Please note that this version has been end of support for more than 5 years, currently supported EOS versions are 4.19 or newer.

HTH,
Tamas
