Hi all,

Does anyone know the amount of memory available on the Arista 7150S-64 switch?

The switch is dropping frames due to congestion at the output ports, even though the rates at the ports are all less than 5Gbps.  I’m trying to get a sense of the private and shared buffer size available to try to troubleshoot this issue.

Hi Rayne.

7150S-64 comes with 4GB of DRAM. Regarding packet buffer, the switch has 9.5MB of dynamically assigned buffer. This and more information can be found in the 71s0S series datasheet, located here.

I suggest you get in touch with our support team at, to help you find out the cause of the dropped frames.

Hope this helps,

The 7150 has 4GB of RAM, but from your question I think you are actually looking for the packet buffer memory, which is 9.5MB. If you are having issues, I’d suggest reaching out to and our TAC team can assist.
