Hi all,

Does anyone know the amount of memory available on the Arista 7150S-64 switch?

The switch is dropping frames due to congestion at the output ports, even though the rates at the ports are all less than 5Gbps.  I’m trying to get a sense of the private and shared buffer size available to try to troubleshoot this issue.

Thanks!

Hi Rayne.

7150S-64 comes with 4GB of DRAM. Regarding packet buffer, the switch has 9.5MB of dynamically assigned buffer. This and more information can be found in the 71s0S series datasheet, located here.

I suggest you get in touch with our support team at support@arista.com, to help you find out the cause of the dropped frames.

Hope this helps,

Hi,

The 7150 has 4GB of RAM, but from your question I think you are actually looking for the packet buffer memory, which is 9.5MB. If you are having issues, I’d suggest reaching out to support@arista.com and our TAC team can assist.

Thanks,
Colin
