I have a few questions around ECMP and hashing.I can’t seem to find a straight answer via documentation.

– What algorithm does EOS use for BGP ECMP hashing? Is it per flow (source/designation)?

– Is there a command to determine which route a source/destination will take?

Hi Jacob,

Thank you for writing to the forum.

May I know which platform/EOS version you have? An output of the "show version" would suffice. The default hashing may change based on the platforms/EOS versions.

A 1. You can check by running the command:

show run all section load-balance

A 2. To check the route, you can use "show ip route"

A few articles that can get you started are:

Thank you,
