Hi All,

Quick question on Telemtry part, I understand CVP uses Telemetry protocol and gets data stored in Sysdb of Arista switches. Wondering, can Telemetry be supported for non-Arista devices which support gRPC protocol.

  • If it is supported, what kind of licenses to be purchased
  • If not supported, what functionalities that CVP can offer to non-Arista devices and what license to be procured for this

Thanks in advance

Hi Bhargav,

Thanks for reaching out.

CVP has a collector feature, which when enabled can collect streaming data from non-EOS devices, similar to TerminAttr on EOS.This feature is available starting from CVP-2019.1.0+ version.

Collector uses gRPC.

Also some of the CVP features might not work the same way for third-party devices as for EOS devices.

Regarding the appropriate license/certificate files and for integration/setup, please reach out to your Arista SE/Accounts team for further administrative information.

Thanks,

Bhavana.
