Hello everyone,

I have a couple of devices running 4.23.0F and have found that “enable secret” is no longer available and only “enable password” is available. This is causing some tooling issues.

Has enable secret been deprecated in favor of enable password only?

Thanks,

Jason

To add to what Philippe said, if you still have devices running older versions and you're looking for a tool that can migrate your config to the new syntax, check out https://github.com/sulrich/eos-cli-migrate and another tool that can convert your CVP configlets (in case you're using CVP) to the new CLI syntax https://github.com/darkiesan/CV-EOS-Conversion

HTH,
Tamas
