Hi, if you just want to find out the total number of paths in the BGP Table then please use the following

switch#sh ip bgp | sed '1,/Network/d' | wc -l

If you would like to find out the how many were selected as best paths then please use the following

switch#sh ip bgp | sed '1,/Network/d' | grep '>' | wc -l

I mean totally prefix in BGP table can be obtained.

There can be millions, this is about the control-plane so you have to consider CPU/RAM vs prefixes, amount of BGP peers, prefixes per peer, stability of the exchanges (many updates/convergence ?), other protocols that consume control-plane resources (BFD, other routing protocols, etc). On the 7500 series you have the 7500E supervisor, and an older version (non-E). The more modern, the most compute power and RAM it has.
If you have a specific scenario in mind then you could discuss with your local Systems Engineer.
