Hello!

I have input errors on interface and I need to make the loop test on it to diagnose SFP module. Is it possible on Arista DCS-7508E with EOS-4.15.3F?

On IOS XR I can configure interface with:

(config)#interface TenGigE 0/0/0/0
(config-if)#loopback ?
external Enable external loopback (requires loopback connector)
internal Enable internal loopback
line Enable line loopback

I need something like this.

Thanks in advance!

Hello Vladimir,

You can use the command under the interface ’traffic-loopback source system device mac’

I can’t find this command…

Should I use ’configure terminal’ before it?

Could You give me step-by-step instructions?

Vladimir,

See the different steps of the command syntax :

7500E(s1)#conf
7500E(s1)(config)#int e3/1/1
7500E(s1)(config-if-Et3/1/1)#tra?
traffic-loopback transceiver
7500E(s1)(config-if-Et3/1/1)#traffic-loopback ?
 source Configure traffic source
7500E(s1)(config-if-Et3/1/1)#traffic-loopback source ?
 network traffic from peer host
 system traffic from local host
7500E(s1)(config-if-Et3/1/1)#traffic-loopback source system ?
 device Configure loopback device
7500E(s1)(config-if-Et3/1/1)#traffic-loopback source system device ?
mac implement loopback in MAC layer
phy implement loopback in PHY layer
7500E(s1)(config-if-Et3/1/1)#traffic-loopback source system device mac ?

Could someone tell me where I can find documentation for this configuration?
